Note: You can remove your turntable to see the idler/turret mechanism as shown in the photos above. The phono idler is a major factor in the proper function and operation of the turntable in your record changer. After a period of time the rubber either becomes"hardened and glazed" or a "dimple" appears on the outer edge of the idler or turret which prevents proper RPM of your turntable and the proper change cycle(which is the rejection, dropping, of the records) from the spindle. Turrets are very important also in the proper speed selection of your turntable whether 16, 33, 45 or 78 RPM. They too become hardened or glazed over time and use. When they become hardened or glazed they lose their "grabbing" ability and SLIP. Go to the Tech Tips page to see how to check your idler and turret for correct operation. Here at West-Tech we have a a large assortment of NOS(4000+) idler wheels, drive wheels and turrets. Many are for the old changers (record players). We may be able to replace your idler or turret with a New Old stock item. In the event a New Old Stock item is not available, we offer a resurfacing service. See the many types of idlers and turrets we have on hand in the following photos. There are many others we have also that are not in the photos. Note: Prices in the photos are not reflective of West-Tech's current pricing.
