Since we have always repaired radio/phono combinations, customers have inquired about doing only radio repair. Due to this request, West-Tech now offers this added service of total radio repair.

West-Tech now offers radio repair services specializing in 1920’s, 1930’s, 1940’s, and 1950’s era models. That same special and unique service that we offer in phonograph, cartridge, microphone, and horn speaker repair is now being offered to our customers in the way of antique/vintage radio repair.

BASIC SERVICES

• Our basic radio repair service will include the following:
• Cleaning of chassis
• Cleaning of all tubes and sockets

• All knob controls cleaned and lubricated (potentiometers, tuning gang, etc.)
• Replacement of all electrolytic capacitors
• Replacement of all capacitors
• Replacement of any resistors that are out of tolerance
• Complete alignment
• Minimum 2 day bench testing


EXTENSIVE SERVICES

• New line cord replacement
• In-Bakelite capacitor replacement on certain models to maintain originality
• New filter cans or original cans used with new filters placed inside cans
• Some wax capacitors rebuilt
• Dial string replacement
• Tube replacement
• Wire replacement
• Tuning belt replacement

EXPLINATION OF EXTENSIVE SERVICES

Many people like to try and maintain the originality of their antique radio as much as possible, especially if it needs repaired. Here at West-Tech Services, we will do everything we can to keep the radio repairs as close to original as possible at the customers request. At additional cost, we will rebuild wax capacitors, Bakelite condensors and electrolytic cans. Call us with your specific model and requests and we can quote pricing.

We can replace your line cord for safety reasons with a standard plastic polarized cord or with a cloth replacement cord for originality.

PRICING

When it comes to radio restoration, there can be many things wrong with a radio or it could be a simple fix. If you believe your radio needs more attention or you want extended service work done, please call or send us your chassis and we will quote a price before work is begun.

Basic services are priced depending on your radio make and model. Excessive service needed such as the replacement of transformers and/or coils can be replaced at an additional cost. Tubes can also be replaced at an additional cost. We have access to an unlimited number of tubes for any radio. Dial string/tuning belt replacement is a flat rate of $30/hour.

WARRANTY

All parts/labor are warranted for 1 year. We cannot warrant work performed on your radio by others prior to our receiving your chassis.

PACKAGING

Please try to double box your chassis whenever possible to protect tubes and dial faces/glass. If at all possible, please send your speaker with your chassis so we can check resistance readings and bench test your radio properly.
